To be a Kid Again
I had a lot of errands to run today and told Treyden that if he was a good boy then he would get to pick out a new toy at Target. He was so good so he picked out a helicopter lego set. Then he didn't get to play with it until he took a good nap (I know, mean mom). So the first thing he said when he woke up was "I want my new toy". We were sitting on the floor in the kitchen putting the legos together (ages 6-12 I later read on the box) when Mitch walked in from work. Treyden excitedly told Mitch about his new toy to which Mitch replied "I love lego's." So I promptly set him to work on it.
As I was cooking dinner I was listening to Mitch tell Treyden where the peices went and ask for a specific peice. They had a great time together and I think that Mitch relived a bit of his childhood (he has tons of Star Wars Legos).
Here is the finished project. Treyden hasn't put it down and tells me frequently "thats so awesome!"
It is great to see the little things that please boys. I have a really hard time finding fun toys for my kids so even though the box says 6-12 years it was a good purchase.

Random Thoughts
Recently I have come across some really funny blogs and I love reading about peoples thoughts and am amazed at how creative people can be in their writing skills. I have decided that I have a boring blog and all I ever blog about is big things that we have done. I am going to try and branch out and think of other random, new and fun things that will keep my readers interested and to work on my creative writing skills. I am in no way blessed with being a writer nor am I funny, or creative so I will be getting ideas from other blogs and putting my own twist on them (or not). I will still post my traveling experiences, and cute pictures of my kids and such.
To start off with my new goal I would like to tell a little bit about myself. I HATE TO COOK, LOVE TO EAT. So those to don't go together very well because I never have anything good in my house to eat. I can follow a recipe just fine and make an alright meal. We are lucky if we get one side to go along with our casserole (Mitch informed me that a good meal always has 2 sides). I also crispify 50% of what I make. So the only time I really get to enjoy food is if my friend Michelle invites us over for dinner (hint hint, she is a GREAT cook) or if Mitch takes me out to eat. I also don't eat if I don't have oneone to make a meal for. Why would I do something that makes me so completely miserable if I don't have too....but then I starve.
So guess what I have eaten today. I slice of strawberry pie and a cookie, that yes, I so loving made for my husband and he hasn't had a bite of either (how rude). When I get rich I am hiring a cook.

Like Mother Like Daughter

So, I had a poor sick kid on Saturday night who couldn't seem to keep anything down. So I put him to bed with a bucket just in case and of course had to put a towel underneath in case he missed. I am sure most people probably do this but I sort of had to laugh at myself (and take a picture to blog about it) because I learned it from my mother. It really got me to thinking about how great of a mom I have. Especially since she wasn't around the next day to take care of me (although Mitch did a great job) when Treyden's ailment got passed on to me. My mom is the best mom and an even better grandma. I consider myself pretty lucky to have her as my mom.

A dAy in the LifE of a 17 mOnTh olD
Life is slowing down a bit for us here. Mitch is back in school, so the kids and I are getting back into our regular routine. So no more posts of our adventures for a couple of weeks at least. I was reading a friends blog who inspired this post. She told all about her routine but since mine is not nearly as entertaining and I don't want anyone to know how worthless I am I decided to follow Kenlee around with the camera for half an hour. Here are the results.

I know that this is a retarded picture but she always grabs my hand when she is getting ignored and leads me to where she wants me to go, which is usually the kitchen for food. This was no exception but she was distracted along the way by the books that she had piled on the kitchen floor.

This is usually where Kenlee hides after her bath when she doesn't want to get dressed. This time she was hiding from the camera.
Climbing off the chair to get a book.
She looks pretty comfy doesn't she!
"Mom get that dang camera out of my face!"(ok, so she didn't really say that because she doesn't talk that good, but that is what she was implying here).
A quick recovery, distracted by another toy.
And about 3 minutes later she was zonked in her crib with her ever present blankie over her face.
Don't you ever wish you could be that age again. At least for the napping part. Well, both of my kids are currently asleep and I am going to take full advantage. I am going to curl up on my bed and fall asleep reading a book. I live for naps!!!

Wearing mommy's shoes and digging threw her purse(she knows that is a no no).

Updates
Wow, I have been busy and my computer has been down so I am finally getting around to blogging again. Here are a few of the things that we have been doing.

I was able to go down to my cousins wedding at the Bountiful Temple. It was a beautiful wedding and she was a beautiful bride.
Treyden and I can't get enough of this adorable baby. He is so sweet and adorable.

I am not ready for the summer to be over yet. We have had so much fun swimming in the back yard with friends.

We bought Treyden a fishing pole for Christmas but couldn't wait that long to give it to him. We took him to go fishing at Freeman Park and they had a blast. We found a great little spot where the water was still by the bank and Kenlee was pretty much soaked by the time that we left.

This past weekend we went to Island Park with my family. On Sunday we took a drive to Big Springs to see the fish and of course Treyden fell asleep on the way there. Mitch got him out of his car seat and we walked around expecting him to wake up to see the fish. He slept right threw all of it and then cried when we got back to the cabin because he didn't get to see the fish.
I also was able to go stay with my sister in Satr Valley Wy. but forgot my camera.

Koleson (or Kohlson) Bishop

My nephew was finally born today (2 days late) at around 11:00 this morning. He weighed 7lbs 7oz and is 21 in. long. He is gorgeous. He looks just like Boston (with way less hair) but is a pretty different baby (from what I saw today) I only heard him cry once for a second and then he was done. I think I heard Boston not cry for one second. His hands are gigantic! if you can't tell from the bottom picture. Boston couldn't get enough of him either. He wouldn't let anyone else hold him. As soon as he saw he he crawled up next to him and asked if he wanted to go on a four wheeler ride. I am not even kidding. It was so stinkin cute! Congrats Nick and Ash.

Simmons Reunion
Mitch and Justin (brother in law) racing through the blow up toys.

The Simmons Family Reunion was at the Riot Zone this year. It was so much fun cuz Treyden and Kenlee had a great time on the blow up toys, almost as much fun as Mitch. Papa Dee took Treyden on a go - cart ride and we almost couldn't get him off.

Uncle Dave rode his bullet bike clear from Utah and that is the first thing Trey saw when we got to Dee and Carols on Sunday. So Dave was nice enough to take him on a ride (I couldn't watch). We also got to see Kelli's new baby, Linkin. He is so stinkin cute.
Preist Lake

We had such a great time at Preist Lake this year. Treyden and Kenlee loved playing in the sand, but I couldn't convince them to get in the water. Mitch was so nice to take care of the kids and let me have quite a bit of time to lay on the beach and read "the Host". It was heavenly. We took a couple of boat rides to Hills Resort and Cooling for some ice cream, went on the rock slide, and drove to Sand Point and did a little shopping (it was a chilly day) I sure could have used one more day on teh beach to work on my tan though.

Finally Finished
I finally finished Pride and Prejudice. If you know me very well, you will know that I am one who will read a book in two days. So you can tell how much I liked this one since it took me two months to read. I was bound and determine to finish it and I will never read it again. So if anyone else joined me and read Pride and Prejudice I would love to know what you thought. Most people love it so maybe I am just weird. I am now looking for a new book to read and I would love love love your suggestions.

I am Exhausted

How was everyones Fourth of July Weekend. I hope that you all had a good and safe vacation. Ours was very fun yet exhausting. Thursday night we went camping in Driggs with Mitch parents, two of his sisters and their kids. Friday morning we got up at 5:30 and watched the hot air balloons take off. I have never done that before so it was a new and fun experience for me. I think the kids were still too tired to care. That afternoon we had our Miles family BBQ at my grandma's house. We had so much fun and ate delicious food as usual. This was the last one for Brittney and Josh for the next 4 years. They are off to Virginia to go to Dental school . Good Luck you guys. We will miss you tons. That night we went and watched the Idaho Falls fireworks with Nick, Ashley and Boston.
Saturday was our biggest adventure. We went to Lava Hot Springs to float the river with my parents, Kelsey, Nick, Ashley, and Boston. I have done it twice before quite a few years ago and don't remember it being quite so wild. I thought that we would be fine taking the babies down it but I was wrong. Kelsey and I rode in a double tube with Kenlee and she freaked as soon as we got in. We survived the first big rapid but my dad who had Boston was not so lucky. Neither was my mom or Nick. Well the second big one dumped us off and Kenlee still hasn't forgiven me. The only ones that stayed dry were my 8 month pregnant sister and Mitch who had Treyden. Boston had a great time and wanted to go again. My kids were not so thrilled. Nick, Kelsey and my mom got bloodied by the rocks. I guess we should have know that it wasn't such a leisurely ride seeing all of the guys with mullets and tatoos bloodied up and cursing. Mitch and Nick took a few more rides while the rest of us enjoyed the show from the sidelines. It was sure fun to watch people get tossed from their tubes. I left my camera in the car for this one so I didn't get any pictures. Sorry they would have been good. All in all it was a great weekend. We are all exhausted though.
