February 1 -Kelly Canyon

Saturday, Ryan hooked us up with a free lift ticket for Kelley's, so after Treyden and Kenlee's basketball games we met Ryan and Carter at the hill.  I was a bit worried we'd blow a ton of money and then the boys would wimp out and get cold, but I couldn't have been more wrong.  I couldn't drag Treyden off of the hill. Both of the boys did really well.  By the end of the day they could go down Skier's Lane without falling.  Now they just need to practice carving and riding toe-side.  By 5 pm when our time was up the boys were still going strong.  I was freezing to death, I guess slowly following 8 year old first timers down Skier's Lane wasn't enough of a workout, but we had  a blast.  Treyden kept saying, "this is the best day of my life," and "this is so fun."  He loved it so much that today he got up for Fast and Testimony meeting and said how grateful he was that his dad took him to Kelley Canyon snowboarding.  It was the spiritual highlight of the whole meeting for all involved.

Kenlee

 Kenlee is playing basketball this year and loves it. She is a great defender and chases her guy all over the court, guarding him/her even when she is on offense. It is so dang cute.

Kenlee asked Santa Claus for an art set for Christmas this year and he obliged. I love going through her homework after school and seeing all of the pictures she draws during her free time.

She painted this one for Treyden, for his birthday. She is so sweet and loves to do things for others. 

Luckily my kids got their father's brains and are smart little stinkers. She whips through her homework so quickly. She loves reading, math, and drawing. She is a friend to everyone. It has been tough to get her out of bed this year for all day school. It has really worn her out and I had to drag her out of bed kicking and screaming to go to school. She has done way better since Christmas break and hops right up and jumps in the shower. She gets her love for sleep from me and her love of showers from her dad if he leaves her any hot water.

 This is our after school routine, snacks, homework, and violin/piano practice. 

One of my young women, Shar, is teaching Kenlee violin this year. She loves it although she doesn't love to practice. We have to inspire her each day before she plays with a YouTube clip of Lindsey Stirling, the dancing violinist.

Hot Chocolate Party

 Mitch and I gave Indie this adorable tea set for Christmas so as soon as the kids were back in school we busted it out and had a party with real cookies and real water. I tried to get the girls to dress up and invite all of their dolls and stuffed animals but I think they were just really wanting to eat the cookies.

 Yes, I took some selfies, I want my kids to remember that I played with them on occasion and what I look like since I am always the one behind the camera just in case I die at an early age.

A little about Emmy

We don't have a ton going on in January so I thought it would be fun to post some every day things and a little about each kid. Emmy is growing so fast and has been so fun. She is talking tons, forming sentences and even reads a verse in the scriptures with us most nights, when she is not running around the house.

She is my helper girl. She loves to load the dishwasher, make beds, vacuum and do laundry. Basically anything I do, she wants to be right there doing it with me. She gets along great with Treyden and Kenlee most of the time but she and Indie, not so much. Usually if Indie is crying it is because Emmy bit, pinched, or scratched her. On rare occasions I do catch them playing really well together.

Emmy LOVES her Minnie jammies that she got for Christmas because her best bud Kourtney has Minnie jammies. When she wears them to bed she wants to wear them all day the next day. She has a very strong will and I end up losing to her most of the time.

Treyden's Baptism - January 11, 2014

Treyden was as excited for this day as he was for Christmas. We learned all about the covenants that he would make and baptism and he was prepared. It was a bitter sweet day for me. My kids are growing up too fast. It was an amazing spiritual experience that I was so grateful to be a part of. Saturday morning Trey was up and quickly ready in his new suit and his "tie that ties." He and Mitch drove off to the stake center because they had to be there early. Shortly after I got a phone call from Nate Stevens the second counselor in the Bishopric informing me that the water at the stake center wasn't working so we had to reschedule the baptisms for 12:30 that afternoon at the Lincoln stake center. So we just switched plans around and had a brunch before the baptism since there were already people on their way. We had so many wonderful family and friends there to support him. I really wish that I had taken more pictures but I was too busy in the kitchen since things got switched around and I forgot. There were only two other kids being baptized that day so it went so fast. One of the other kids mom spoke about the Holy Ghost and did a great job. It was a wonderful day and Treyden is officially a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Seriously, it has been two months already. It seems like just yesterday and forever ago at the same time. Is that possible? Love having this sweet girl in my life!

Halloween Party and an update on Emmy

My kids have been so stinkin excited for halloween. I have pictures of ghosts, witches, pumpkins draculas, bats, spiders.....taped to my walls everywhere. So cute and so annoying. They love halloween so I decided to through a little halloween party with a few friends for them. My freind and neighbor Tori helped out and did the doughnut game with them and it was hilarious. Treyden wore three different costumes throughout the party - Dracula, Darth Vader and Spider Man. They had a great to but I vow to never do it again. My kids were to excited all morning and afternoon which resulted in a lot of disobedience. GRRRR.

Emmy is getting to big to fast for me. She is so sweet and is starting to smile and coo. Love it. She still has a lot (for my kids) of hair in back and none on top. Pretty funny. She gets an upset stomach almost every night and stays up a little to late for my liking but it is about the only time that I really get to sit and hold her so I love that.
